Dimitri Fricano, the Biella man who confessed to the murder of his girlfriend Erika Preti, killed in 2017 while the two were on holiday in San Teodoro, is back in prison .

Sentenced to 30 years in prison, Fricano had been under house arrest for a year and three months due to his health conditions : a heavy smoker and obese, he had reached a weight of 200 kilos and according to the judges of the Surveillance Court, who had accepted the defense's request, he needed treatment.

During this period he was treated in the Ponderano hospital, but the Surveillance Court has now decided that Fricano must return to prison. The reason? There are facilities suitable for receiving him despite his health problems. Immediately after the order the man was accompanied to the prison in Biella, waiting for the new detention destination to be decided.

In 2017 , he stabbed Erika Preti, his 28-year-old girlfriend, to death in the villa in Lu Fraili where they were on vacation. Initially, he had reported a thief who had broken into the house, then, once he arrived in Biella, when all the clues pointed to him, he confessed. " Erika scolded me, the table is dirty, there are crumbs. You're the usual slacker, she told me ." This would have been the reason for the explosion of violence, 57 stab wounds.

In recent months, the girl's parents, in an interview with Corriere, have expressed all their indignation for the release of Fricano, of whom they are also neighbors. " We come across our daughter's murderer walking around town or at the post office, it's a disgrace. This is not justice ."
