The investigations into the murder of Fausto and Iaio, the two boys killed on March 18, 1978 near the Leoncavallo social center in Milan, have been reopened. This was decided by the investigating judge Maria Idria Gurgo of Castelmenaedo, accepting the request of the Milanese prosecutors Leonardo Lesti and Francesca Crupi.

The reopened case had been archived in December 2000 by investigating judge Clementina Forleo, who had highlighted "significant elements" against "the subversive right and in particular the suspects" Massimo Carminati, Claudio Bracci and Mario Corsi. Clues that at the time had never become evidence. An investigative file on the double homicide had been opened over a year ago, following the request sent by mayor Giuseppe Sala to prosecutor Marcello Viola.

On that occasion, prosecutors Lesti and Crupi had asked the evidence office of the Milanese Palace of Justice to carry out research to identify which of the crime bodies were preserved on which they could possibly carry out new analyses. At the site of the murder, then, a blue wool cap was found which, however, was never subjected to tests and in the end was no longer found among the evidence. On the basis of a new report from the Digos, the old investigation was then reopened.

At the center of the reopening of the investigation is a typing report on the flyer claiming responsibility for the double homicide. As far as we know, possible new leads have emerged, always within the subversive right wing, which have convinced the investigating judge. There are also numerous documentary findings and the testimonies of some people already heard in the past.
