Two beauty centers and various homes were sifted through an operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Nas and Aifa of Rome, by the men of the Customs Agency and the Anti-Fraud Directorate of Rome who seized counterfeit drugs for aesthetic treatments, in particularly containing botulinum toxin.

The investigations had started when the Customs and Monopoly Agency of Fiumicino had identified 30 phials of counterfeit botulinum toxin imported from China. As part of today's activities, another 42 counterfeit botulinum toxin vials were found, 98 vials of drugs of unknown origin containing other botulinum toxin, lidocaine, hyaluronic acid and ascorbic acid.

Seized various equipment, equipment and other medical devices (electric scalpel, suture threads, injection needles, syringes) for a total value of about 30 thousand euros, all intended to perform aesthetic medicine treatments not authorized by the competent authorities.
