A vertebra and some women's panties were found during excavations started yesterday on land in Montecatini and Monsummano Terme , in the province of Pistoia, which are the subject of investigations into Vasile Frumuzache, the 32-year-old who confessed to the murder of two compatriots, Denisa Maria Adas, 30, and Ana Maria Andrei, 27 .
In Montecatini the activity is concentrated in the area of the Panteraie forest where the remains of the two women were found, in Monsummano on the land belonging to the 42-year-old's home.
Carabinieri of the Scientific Investigations Section (SIS) and the Dog Unit returned again today for an in-depth inspection of the security guard's house . They remained inside the house for a long time for forensic police surveys and their activities, as learned on site, will continue in the afternoon.
According to what has emerged, the investigations inside the house follow those carried out outside the farmhouse, along a path that runs alongside a vineyard. At a certain point on the path, a sort of brick base was discovered, a small artifact. Concrete bricks are placed on top of it. There are clear signs of fire on this building material that presumably attracted the attention of the investigators : the area was closed until this morning and is about 300 meters from the Romanian security guard's house.
Vasile Frumuzache confessed to the murder and beheading of Denisa Maria Adas, also specifying that he had set fire to the victim's head and clothes near her home .
The fate of Ana Maria Andrei and Denisa Adas is known so far because Vasile Frumuzache confessed to their killing and the suppression of their bodies when pressed by investigators during questioning based on clues gathered during the investigation. The investigators suspected that there could be other victims , hence the excavations in the ground that led to the horrifying discovery.
