A fatal illness while driving the regional train 4193 Pescara - Sulmona. The train driver, 61-year-old Antonio D'Acci, known as Tonino, originally from Foggia and resident in Termoli (Campobasso), however managed to stop the convoy which at that moment had 87 passengers on board, all safe.

The man was helped first by the train conductor and the on-board staff, then by 118: any attempt to resuscitate him was useless.

The events of yesterday, Tuesday 26 March: the train remained stopped in the area of the Manoppello Interport (Pescara) and the Pescara - Rome line remained blocked for a long time.

D'Acci was on the verge of retirement. As soon as the news of his death began to circulate, many messages of condolence from colleagues, both railway workers and train drivers, but not only, began to circulate on social networks.
