A shopkeeper intimidated by a customer with a… snake. Specifically: a boa.

It happened in Merano and, as reported by the Alto Adige newspaper, the episode involved two women: the owner of a tobacconist who also offers the service of picking up parcels ordered online, and a thirty-year-old woman who claimed to be the recipient of one of the packages. The police are investigating the incident and the customer risks, after filing a complaint, being charged with arbitrary exercise of her rights, improper robbery and aggravated threats.

According to a reconstruction of the facts, in the last few days a man showed up twice at the tobacconist to collect a package, but without having the necessary code.

The third time the man returned accompanied by a woman of about 30 years old, who took a package from those in stock and ran out of the store. At that point the tobacconist chased her for a few dozen meters until she reached her in the car to have the package returned, but at that moment, as the newspaper specifies, a snake emerged from the woman's cloth bag, a sort of "improper weapon" intended to scare the tobacconist.

The Carabinieri then intervened on the spot and identified the couple. Following the tobacconist's complaint, the Police instead carried out an inspection at the woman's house, finding three more snakes , legally detained. The case now also involves the Forestry Department.
