He attacked his wife in the street, spraying her with a stinging substance probably based on bleach.
The attack, according to the local edition of Resto del Carlino, occurred in Vignola, in the Modena area: the 49-year-old victim was helped by neighbors and passers-by, alerted by his screams.
The 60-year-old pushed everyone away and took his wife to the hospital himself, with whom separation procedures were underway which - it emerged - he did not agree with: the code red was immediately triggered.
The man was arrested by the police on charges of aggravated assault. Investigations by the police are underway to understand whether there have already been any violent episodes within the couple, of Moroccan origin.
