She had been dead for two months or maybe more but her son, almost eighty, kept her composed, in his pajamas, in his bed, telling everyone that his mother had gone out "to do the shopping, with her friends, to go at Mass ". Whether he did it out of calculation or more simply out of desperation, the carabinieri coordinated by the Genoa prosecutor's office will decide.

Roberto Silvestri, 77, retired employee residing in Sampierdarena, to anyone who asked about mother Angela, 93, replied that he was not at home. She had gone shopping, or that time she was with her friends, or to mass. But last Monday the woman's support administrator, who had been trying in vain for a month to get in touch with her, decided to go home. And since Silvestri refused to open the door because "Mom isn't here, she went out shopping", she decided to go back with the police and firefighters.

It was the firefighters who broke down that door that Silvestri did not want to open and the carabinieri who made the discovery.

In the bedroom the soldiers found the mummified body of mother Angela.

The coroner, who arrived for an initial external examination of the body, predicted a death which occurred at least two months earlier and, at least from the first analysis, no trace of injury or injury that could suggest a violent death.

Silvestri, who told the police that he had kept his deceased mother at home because "I didn't want to be separated from her" is now hospitalized in a state of shock in hospital.

The body was seized and the investigations are entrusted to the carabinieri.
