A 55-year-old man, originally from Molfetta, died at sea in Porto Cesareo (Lecce) while he was practicing kitesurfing with a group of friends in the body of water in Le Dune.

Cosimo Tattoli was immediately rescued by the staff of the "Le Dune" plant with a defibrillator and an oxygen tank, but attempts to revive him pending the arrival of the 118 health workers were in vain. The men of the Port Authority have arrived on site for the reliefs.

The exact cause of death is yet to be clarified. The 55-year-old could have fallen ill and ended up in the water, but he could also have hit his head.
