Sigfrido Ranucci is leaving the editorial staff of Report . The journalist himself testifies in a post published on social media , in which he is seen packing boxes.

A long farewell message accompanies the images. " A story that lasted twenty years is coming to an end. I'm gathering the memories that have accompanied me through approximately 500 episodes of Report ," the journalist specifies. "I had expected it, and I always tried to imagine how it would have gone: I pictured many scenarios, but I never would have imagined such a monstrous outcome. However, I regret nothing I've done . I would do it all again, because I chose to defend principles, I chose not to bow before anyone, not even in the face of my fears or uncertainties, even when it would have been more convenient and beneficial. And sometimes, choosing serves to disorientate, to transform ourselves into Maremma shepherds to show the way to others."

"During the funeral of Agnès Lassalle," Ranucci continues, "the Spanish teacher from Saint-Jean-de-Luz killed with a stab wound to the heart by a sixteen-year-old, her partner, Stéphane Voirin, decided to pay homage by dancing alone in front of the coffin to the tune of Nat King Cole's "LOVE," their song. Suddenly, everyone present began dancing, turning their emotion into sharing. Transforming grief into resilience: that's what I'll do, with the promise of seeing you again sooner or later. I'm sorry I couldn't say goodbye from the Report studio. Parting, sometimes, is such a sweet pain. But one can only see clearly with the heart, and for this I can only thank you for the passion and dedication with which you have supported me over these years and which, despite everything, you still give me today."
