A 44-year-old man is hospitalized at the CTO burns center in Turin, in very serious conditions and with a reserved prognosis, after he set himself on fire last night in Novara at the height of an argument with his wife.

The gesture of the man, of South American origin, would have occurred in front of the eyes of his minor children and would have been voluntary.

In an attempt to put out the flames, the family members were slightly injured. Once the alarm was raised, the firefighters and the 118 ambulances and a police car arrived on site.

At first it seemed like a gas cylinder had exploded in the apartment, then the truth emerged.

The forensic team then also arrived in the apartment to carry out investigations. Investigations into the episode are underway by the Novara Police Headquarters.
