Hacker in action once again, this time against Siae.

An attack of the "data breach" type is underway against the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers, with the exfiltration of about 60 gigabytes of sensitive data: we are talking about 28 thousand documents including identity cards, driving licenses, health cards and addresses, which a apparently they have already been put up for sale on the dark web. In exchange for the return, a ransom of three million euros in bitcoin was requested.

"La Siae will not proceed with the ransom request", says the general manager Gaetano Blandini, who underlines: "We have already made the complaint to the Postal Police and to the privacy guarantor as usual. All authors will then be promptly informed that have been subject to attack. We will constantly monitor the progress of the situation trying to secure the data of SIAE members ".

The attack was claimed by the Everest group. According to what is learned, the SIAE had already been the victim of small attacks a few weeks ago and the alert of the security systems had gone off.

The Rome department of Cnaipic (National Cybercrime Center for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures) is working on investigations.
