Marco Venturi, who was accused of the death of his ex-girlfriend, the 37-year-old stylist Carlotta Benusiglio, found hanged with a scarf from a tree in the gardens of Piazza Napoli in Milan, has been definitively acquitted after almost 8 years of legal proceedings. on the night of May 31, 2016.

This was decided by the Court of Cassation which rejected the appeal of the Milanese Prosecutor General's Office, which had asked to annul the second degree sentence, a verdict with which the first degree sentence of 6 years for death as a consequence of stalking was cancelled.

The Prosecutor's Office was instead convinced of the murder theory, a hypothesis also rejected by the Court of Appeal.
