Thousands of young people took part in the parade for the climate organized this morning in Milan as part of the “Youth4Climate” event that took place these days in the Lombard capital.

A great demonstration in the square, therefore, started at 9.40 from Largo Cairoli and opened by Greta Thunberg together with Vanessa Nakate and a delegation of activists from different parts of the world.

The procession, after a passage in Piazza Affari where about fifty climate activists spent the night in tents last night, is headed to Piazzale Damiano Chiesa, not far from Mico where the work of the event is underway.

Greta Thunberg, the Swedish founder of the "Friday for future" movement, danced and clapped her hands while the other protesters chanted "Bella ciao".

Note the blitz in front of the Unicredit headquarters in Piazza Edison by five activists, who broke away from the procession, smearing the courtyard in front of the bank with black paint and exposed a sign that reads “UniCredit enriches itself with weapons and oil”.

Chants of dissent also against the Minister of Energy Transition Roberto Cingolani.

Yesterday Prime Minister Mario Draghi had wanted to respond in person to the accusation of making only "bla bla bla", launched at politicians by the Swedish activist. Then the meeting with Greta and two other young activists, the Ugandan Vanessa Nakate and the Italian Martina Comparelli.

The three asked Italy to be more ambitious at the G20, to give up gas and to push for aid to poor countries. Draghi responded with his commitment in October in Rome.
