Child disappeared and then found in Locorotondo, doubts remain about the matter
The checks continue, the little one - who is not even two years old - would have traveled too far aloneThere are still doubts about the disappearance of the child from Locorotondo who, last July 30th, was lost for eight hours.
Little Domenico was playing in the garden of his house, in the countryside, when he vanished into thin air. Only after hours of extensive searches was he located sleeping under a fig tree several kilometers away.
The matter is being investigated by the police. The doubt, which had already arisen immediately after the discovery, is that such a small child (he will be two years old in a few days) is unlikely to be able to cover such a long journey on his own and without anyone noticing him. Perplexities were also expressed by the mayor, Antonio Bufano, who participated in the research himself, and by the family.
The hypothesis, which has been circulating for days and taken up by some media, is that it may have been a flash kidnapping. There is maximum confidentiality on the matter on the part of the Bari Prosecutor's Office, while there is no hypothesis of kidnapping being examined by the investigators. The mayor himself, Antonio Bufano, had declared that "the molecular dogs were wandering around the little boy's house and this led to the conclusion that he was nearby and not three or four kilometers from the house". Words that led many to think that the child had been taken by someone who, due to the media outcry caused by the affair and the intended research activity, had given up on his intent and left him next to the tree. A thesis that currently has no official confirmation.
