Carol Maltesi was killed with premeditation, cruelty and for trivial and abject reasons: the public prosecutor of Busto Arsizio (Varese) requests in the appeal a life sentence for Davide Fontana, sentenced to 30 years for killing and cutting the 26-year-old to pieces 11 January 2022 in Rescaldina (Milan).
The life sentence was requested due to the aggravating circumstances, even in the first instance the prosecutor had requested it. Last September 20, the Assize Court of Busto Arsizio accepted Fontana's request to be admitted to restorative justice, a path that is not an alternative to the criminal process.
Carol Maltesi was murdered for a precise reason: Fontana «could not accept living without the girl who between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 had informed him that she intended to leave Rescaldina and move between the Veronese area, where her little son lived, and Prague", wrote the investigating judge of Brescia Angela Corvi in the order validating the arrest of the banker, who confessed to the murder of the 26 year old.
The life sentence in the first degree was denied because the victim was defined as "uninhibited" while he, "in love, felt used".
