"I killed four old people, I did it out of mercy."

Thus a 48 year old Neapolitan, Mario Eutizia , yesterday morning to the Carabinieri of Caserta: the man accused himself, supported by his lawyers Antonio Daniele and Gennaro Romano, of four murders , all of people for whom he had acted as a carer. The victims lived in Cilento, Casoria and Latina.

The elderly, it is understood, were all cancer patients: Eutizia would have killed them by increasing the dosage of the prescribed anti-tumor drugs, in addition to sedatives and painkillers. Four deaths that at the time had been registered as ordinary deaths.

The 48-year-old was transferred to prison in Santa Maria Capua Vetere. The Prosecutor's Office is investigating these and other possible cases.
