Francesco Schiavone, known as Sandokan, considered one of the main Camorra bosses and undisputed leader of the Casalesi clan, is ready to collaborate with justice.

The news of Schiavone's "repentance" was reported by the paper edition of the newspaper Cronache di Caserta.

From what we learn, in recent days the police went to Casal di Principe to propose to his son Ivanhoe and the other relatives of the clan leader - in prison for 26 years - to enter the protection programme, confirming the desire to Sandokan to collaborate with the DDA of Naples.

Schiavone was arrested in 1998 and sentenced to life imprisonment in the Spartacus maxi trial and for several murders. Before him, his first-born son Nicola decided to repent in 2018, then his second son Walter in 2021. The other sons Emanuele Libero, who will be released from his cell next August, and Carmine remain in prison, while Sandokan's wife, Giuseppina Nappa, is not in Casal di Principe.

According to some, Sandokan's decision could also be a message to some not to try to reorganize the clan , a way to put a tombstone on the aspirations of other possible successors.

Francesco Schiavone's collaboration could shed light on some unsolved mysteries, such as the killing in Brazil in 1988 of the clan's founder Antonio Bardellino and on the connections between the Camorra and politics.
