Corruption in competitions for recruitment in the Armed Forces (carabinieri, army and air force) and in the prison police.

Fourteen people were arrested on charges of facilitating some contestants in exchange for bribes.

It happens in Naples, where the investigations of the Prosecutor's Office have shed light on a series of episodes that between the end of 2020 and the first half of 2021 have seen as protagonists two agents of the Penitentiary, Errico Spena and Maurizio Russo, already in prison.

The two were surprised inside the union organization offices while pocketing 8 thousand euros.

According to a press release signed by the prosecutor of Naples Giovanni Melillo, "the circumstantial elements acquired testify to an extensive branching of corrupt contacts and complicities relevant to the illicit conditioning of insolvency proceedings".

The precautionary measures carried out today concern, among others, as well as Spena and Russo also Aniello Aversano (assistant head of the Penitentiary Police serving at the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison), Gennaro Fatone (traffic policeman in Caivano, in the Neapolitan area), Giorgio Spina (Army corporal in service at the Maddaloni barracks, in the Caserta area).

All according to the accusation were intermediaries of corrupt relationships aimed at unduly passing the tests.
