Aeroitalia lost the brand war with Ita. The company's name, in addition to that of Ita, is in fact too similar to that of Alitalia. And in fact Ita, owner of the Alitalia brand, won the case on this front too.
Thus yesterday the Appellate Board of the Court of Rome decided that the company that currently connects Cagliari to Fiumicino and Milan Linate in continuity will have to change its name and logo within six months. Aeroitalia is considering filing an appeal with the Supreme Court.
"It is a very bad blow for our company, because that brand has become important today thanks to the work of all of us", is the text of the communication with which the CEO Gaetano Intrieri warned the Company of the decision. "I am sure that we will overcome this too, in this strange country where meritocracy is not rewarding". Then a message of hope: "We are already working on the new name".
