The alleged perpetrator of the rape of an 11-year-old girl, Sardinian Massimiliano Mulas, was transferred from the prison in Venice to the one in Gorizia for security reasons.

The 45-year-old man, arrested last Thursday on charges of aggravated sexual assault , was taken to another penitentiary where it is possible to implement the protection protocols for so-called sex offenders. The hostility of other inmates in the Venice prison imposed the measure that has already been implemented.

The transfer comes a few hours after the interrogation before the investigating judge of Venice, Mulas, defended by the lawyer Ignazio Ballai, remained silent. And other details emerge of the investigations that led to the arrest of the man of Sardinian origins, convicted several times for sexual crimes.

Prosecutor Anna Andeatta has reportedly acquired medical certificates proving the rape that took place on Thursday, April 10, in an apartment in the center of Mestre. She has also acquired testimonies from people who allegedly heard the girl scream. Massimiliano Mulas' lawyer, Ignazio Ballai, has declined to make any statements.
