A driver died in a collision between his vehicle and a bus carrying about fifty students this morning in Oderzo, in the province of Treviso.

The accident occurred at 7:45 a.m. Following the impact, both vehicles ended up in the ditch alongside the roadway. Upon arrival at the scene, the Fire Brigade team from the Motta di Livenza (Treviso) detachment, supported by a team from the Treviso headquarters, proceeded to provide first aid to the people involved and secured the vehicles involved in the accident.

The driver of the car died instantly from the force of the impact. The bus passengers sustained minor injuries. Suem 118 personnel with three vehicles and a helicopter, along with the Carabinieri, were also on the scene.

According to reports, the deceased driver—Germano De Luca, 85—did not have a license. His driving license had expired in August and would not have been renewed due to a lack of medical requirements. The suspension had been in effect since October 15th.
