Veneto Alpine Rescue, Fire Brigade, Civil Protection and law enforcement are searching in the Teolo (Padua) area for Annabella Martinelli, 22, a law student enrolled at the University of Bologna, who has been missing from Padua – her city of residence – since January 6.

That evening, around 8:00 PM, she left home on her bicycle, but never returned. The bicycle has yet to be found. The last remaining cell service from her cell phone, which has been out of service since January 7th, has allowed the Teolo area to be identified, which is why the search is focused there.

Alpine and Speleological Rescue workers, activated on the evening of January 8th by the Prefecture, which is coordinating the search together with the Fire Department, are moving between Monte Grande, Monte della Madonna, and Rocca Pendice, in the Euganean Hills area. However, family and friends, who have issued an appeal on social media in recent hours, have not ruled out the possibility that she may have moved to Bologna or areas near the Emilian capital and are urging anyone with information to contact the Carabinieri. All hypotheses remain open at this time; an initial voluntary departure has not been ruled out. Annabella Martinelli is described as tall, slim, and athletic, with blonde bob hair with fuchsia tips. However, it is not excluded that she may have altered her hairstyle in recent days.

"Anyone with useful information is asked to contact 112. The family and the entire community hope to be able to embrace Annabella again as soon as possible," wrote the former governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, publishing the girl's photo.
