Michael Folorunsho is set to become a new Cagliari player. Negotiations with Napoli have just been finalized for the arrival of the 1998-born midfielder in Sardinia, who joins the Rossoblu on loan with an option to buy set at €8 million. The official announcement will come after his medical, which, however, is not expected today. For this reason, he is more likely to join Fabio Pisacane's squad between this week's two friendlies , Wednesday (7:30 PM) in Linz against Galatasaray and Saturday (2:00 PM) away to Hannover.

Folorunsho will thus become Cagliari's second new face, following Gennaro Borrelli, who is already available to Pisacane at the Ponte di Legno training camp, which concludes tomorrow. The negotiations, which lasted a few weeks and were successfully concluded today, provide the coach with a player capable of playing in various midfield positions .

Last season, Folorunsho (coming off a strong performance in 2023-24 at Verona) started at Napoli but in January – given his lack of playing time – moved on loan to Fiorentina. He made a total of 20 appearances (plus 6 in the Conference League and Coppa Italia) without scoring. He rejoins Cagliari, whom he faced in June 2023 in the two famous Serie B playoff finals, which the Rossoblu won against Bari .
