Cagliari full-back Riyad Idrissi underwent surgery today following a serious left knee injury sustained on March 7 against Como . The Rossoblu player had torn his anterior cruciate ligament, requiring reconstruction.

Idrissi will begin his rehabilitation process in the next few days. It's a long process and certainly not unfamiliar to Cagliari, given that this season alone, Andrea Belotti and Mattia Felici have also had to deal with anterior cruciate ligament tears in their left knee . For him, obviously, the season is already over and he won't return until next season.

Idrissi had already missed the matches against Pisa and Napoli before the break. Alberto Dossena, who was already on a booking, was cautioned by the latter last Friday.
