Cagliari will meet in Buddusò during the international break, hosting the newly promoted local team, newly promoted to the Eccellenza league, at the Borucca Stadium. The match will be played next Friday, September 5th, with kick-off at 4:00 PM, taking advantage of the Serie A break due to international fixtures.

Since the 2022-2023 season, with the return of Claudio Ranieri, Cagliari has once again embarked on the tradition of reaching out to fans spread across Sardinia by often playing against teams from the regional leagues when the league season was suspended . After their first friendly, in March 2023 against Villacidrese, they faced Tharros, Cus Cagliari, and Macomerese, among others, at their stadiums.

"With enormous pride and excitement, we are delighted to announce that on Friday, September 5th, we will have the honor of hosting Cagliari Calcio for a luxury friendly match at our home, Borucca," Buddusò announced. " This event is a source of great pride not only for our club but for the entire Buddusò community , who will have the opportunity to admire the rossoblù champions up close."

Buddusò, coached by Ferruccio Terrosu, recently returned to the Eccellenza league after 22 years by winning last season's Group B of Promozione (and in 2023-24 they triumphed in the Prima Categoria, thus making a double leap). They will play their first match of the season on Sunday, at home in the first leg of the Coppa Italia round of 16 against Taloro Gavoi . Cagliari will travel to the Biancocelesti without their national team players, including Riyad Idrissi and Marco Palestra, who have been called up by the Italy Under-21 team .
