"We learned from the unions of the arrival of the first letters of dismissal of Air Italy workers . I am sorry and disappointed that the shareholders have decided to proceed unilaterally. I have asked the Ministry of Labor to convene the table, which was already foreseen for the first days of January, and I will continue the commitment on the amendments, as shared at the last meeting with the trade unions ".

This was stated by Deputy Minister for Economic Development Alessandra Todde.

"Politics talked less and acted more: one day after the dismissal letters were sent, the rebound of responsibility between the various departments and regional institutions is embarrassing, making the situation even more dramatic", the comment of the national secretary of Filt Cgil Fabrizio Cuscito, according to whom "no one has lifted a finger so far. It is unacceptable how foreign private companies first use public resources and then run away, leaving industrial rubble and dismissed workers in the deafening silence of Parliament and government".

The trade unionist also asked the executive led by Prime Minister Mario Draghi to call the company to a new discussion table.

Yesterday the dismissal letters were sent by e-mail to some workers, which in the next few hours will be sent to the now 1,322 former employees of the airline , after the decision of the owners not to request the extension of the layoffs.

The dismissal takes effect immediately, therefore it provides for the payment of the indemnity in lieu of the notice.

Workers will now be able to access Naspi with a more favorable regime, since the new service provides for a reduction in the amount no longer starting from the fourth month, but from the sixth and for the over 50s from the eighth month.

For the relocation of the company's employees, the Region of Sardinia managed to access the EGF, the European Globalization Adjustment Fund, which Air Italy allocated 4.5 million euros for the dispute (3.8 million the Feg share, 683 thousand euros that of the Region).
