Latest protests for Air Italy employees

The general assembly of the workers of the airline, called by AP, Usb and Cobas, will take to the streets tomorrow morning at 10 in Olbia, in piazza Elena di Gallura.

The sit-in was decided after the bankruptcy outcome of yesterday 's ministerial table, deserted by the property, which does not intend to ask for an extension of the layoffs. Therefore, the dismissal of 1322 people is getting closer and closer.

"We ask for a stop to the mass layoffs caused by property and management and we denounce the guilty delays in the policy on an industrial disaster for which the State is responsible", the unions say with a joint statement, "we will ask for specific commitments on the amendments to the milleproroghe decree , indispensable to give workers a perspective after the sinking of the promised amendments on the budget law ".

The National Association of Professional Flight Attendants will also take part in the protest.

"The silence of the government and the national press, which do not mention the largest mass dismissal in the pandemic, is intolerable", explains the Anpav, "tomorrow is the last day of layoffs for 1,322 families, over 600 in Sardinia the main company on the island sends its workers home and politics sheds its responsibilities ".

For the association it is unacceptable that "the largest European air transport contract goes to a Spanish company in a territory with 1,322 workers in the sector abandoned to their fate".

Other events could also be organized in Milan and Rome.
