For Gabriele Zappa, yesterday's Cagliari-Torino was a double celebration. Not only the great 3-2 comeback victory , but also the celebrations for the 150 appearances in red and blue reached fifteen days ago against Juventus (he is now at 151). A number celebrated on the pitch at the Domus, together with the president Tommaso Giulini who gave him a commemorative shirt with his name and the number of matches. "I feel proud and truly honored to have reached 150 appearances with this shirt", wrote Zappa as a thank you . "150 (actually 151!) SWEATY shirts", added Giulini always on social media, sharing in turn the photo that portrays him together with the number 28 and pointing out how the match against Torino has in reality already restarted the count.

Zappa arrived in Cagliari in the summer of 2021 from Pescara, where he began his professional career after growing up in the Inter youth sector (with whom he reached the Primavera). His debut in rossoblù, for the first of 151 appearances, on 20 September 2020 against Sassuolo in what was also his debut in Serie A, where he has 105 games under his belt, all with Cagliari . He also scored 4 goals, 3 in Serie B in 2022-2023 and a decisive one against Genoa last season. This season he has always played as a starter between Serie A and Coppa Italia (10 out of 10), missing only the second half of Lecce .
