«We will never accept agreements reached behind our backs, without our involvement» .
Volodymyr Zelensky spoke clearly, speaking at the Munich Security Conference. The Ukrainian president does not like the US-Russia negotiations to end the conflict, with Donald Trump having clearly said that Kiev must renounce NATO membership and cede some territories .
Zelensky made it clear that he does not intend to take his country's membership in NATO off the table : "We need coordinated diplomacy, the end of this war should be our first shared success. No decision on Ukraine without Ukraine, no decision on Europe without Europe. If we are excluded from negotiations on our future, then we all lose."
"Europe - Zelensky added, addressing the leaders - must have a seat at the table when decisions are made about it, everything else is zero. Of course we have our plan, but we need a common perspective and we are ready for a common plan".
The Ukrainian president also spoke about the conversation he had with Trump : "He told me that we need to meet. I confirmed it to him and said that it is important for us that we meet first, the two of us, rather than the bilateral meeting he will have with Putin. The conversation with Trump was positive, I told him that Putin is afraid of him ."
