"A political rather than a military solution to Crimea is possible."

This was stated by the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview resumed this morning by various media in the country, regarding the disputed peninsula with Russia and which Moscow occupied in 2014.

"When we get to the administrative borders of Crimea, I think it is possible to politically force the demilitarization of Russia on the territory of the peninsula," Zelensky said.

A political solution for Crimea would not only be possible, but also "preferable" because casualties would be avoided, added the Kiev leader.

«I think it is possible to push politically for the demilitarization of Russia on the territory of the peninsula. It would be better. Any fight would still have losses, wherever it is. Everything has to be calculated,” Zelensky stressed.
