US President Joe Biden's backtrack on the wall on the border with Mexico, whose construction had been launched by Donald Trump.

The US administration will bypass 26 federal laws (some environmental) to build another 32 km of barrier in the Rio Grande Valley, using funds already allocated during the administration of its predecessor in 2019.

Biden, while maintaining that the wall is not "effective", explained that he could not oppose the use of those funds: "I tried to convince them to redirect that money. They didn't. They won't. In the meantime, nothing can be done under the law except to use the money for the purpose for which it was allocated. I can't stop him."

Trump wasted no time in commenting on the news: «It's so interesting to see Joe Biden having to break every environmentalist rule to prove that I was right in building the wall on the border» with Mexico. Adding: “I wonder if Biden will apologize to me and to America for taking so long and allowing our country to be inundated with 15 million migrants.”
