"We can reach a reasonable agreement between Russia and Ukraine," said US Vice President JD Vance, speaking at the Munich Security Conference.
"With Trump there is a new sheriff in Washington," Vance said during his visit to Europe. And, regarding the role of allies in possible peace negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, European countries - Vance said - "will obviously have to be involved."
On this occasion, the vice president did not fail to speak about the relations between the US and the EU. "Our common values, that's what I want to talk about here with you today. I believe that we are on the same team, we have to play together and we have to live our values, and talk to each other. We are all connected", said Vance. Trump's vice president however "suggested" corrections on immigration policies: "Today one in five people comes from abroad, it is similar in the US, the number of migrants entering the EU doubled in 2021. Europe must change course on immigration".
Finally, defense spending. "We believe," Vance continued, "that it is important, within a shared alliance, that Europeans step forward while America focuses on areas of the world that are in great danger."
