The largest economic offensive ever launched against Iran aims to isolate the country from the rest of the world. The US Treasury Secretary lifts the veil on "Operation Economic Outcast," whose primary goal is to sever all financial ties with the regime and "suffocate" it economically.
Scott Bessent's target, therefore, isn't just Iran, but also anyone who supports it in any way, including China. And the scope of the secondary sanctions includes five key sectors: digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping. "We will end access to the dollar system for those who launder Iranian money," Bessent threatened harshly, issuing a warning to "those who facilitate Iran": "Do not test our resolve."
Countries have been given a specific timeframe to end economic cooperation with Iran, and the "countdown has just begun." Those who fail to sever ties will face the "noose" and unilateral action from the Treasury Department.
"Those who align themselves with the Iranian regime (including China, ed.) must expect to share the isolation of a declining regime," Bessent thundered, explaining instead that by siding with the United States, he will "reap the benefits of our partnership."
