Vice President J.D. Vance's trip to Islamabad for U.S.-Iran talks on a definitive ceasefire "has been suspended after Tehran failed to respond to American negotiating positions." The New York Times reported this, citing several American sources, who said that without an Iranian response, the diplomatic process is effectively suspended, although the trip itself has not been canceled.
The announcements and counter-announcements , partial confirmations and denials regarding the negotiations between Washington and Tehran continue.
Iran has stated that negotiations can resume only if the United States lifts the blockade of Iranian ports. "Iran has no choice but to make a deal," US President Donald Trump said in a telephone interview with CBNC News. For now, however, the stalemate remains. Without an agreement, Trump added, "the US military is ready to bomb again."
