Tunisian authorities last weekend prevented dozens of illegal crossings to Italy. This was announced by the Ministry of the Interior in a statement summarizing the various operations foiled throughout the country, which led to the rescue and arrest of dozens of people.

Six young people were intercepted by the Coast Guard in the north of the country, another 16 on the coasts of Ras Angela, off the coast of Bizerte.

On the coasts of Khneis, Hergla and Tabluba, on October 17, the units of the National Guard blocked another eight people.

Seven people were arrested in the Dar Alloush region trying to steal a boat to use for the crossing. Four others were stopped in the same region.

Thirteen arrested with the same charges also in Mahdia, five in Sfax, four in Mahres, four in Ghannouch, 58 in Kerkennah and 92 in Louata, where two fishing boats were seized.
