Trump talks to Putin: "Negotiations on Ukraine to begin immediately"

"I just had a long and highly productive phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the power of the dollar and various other topics." The announcement, via Truth, is by US President Donald Trump. From Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that it lasted about an hour and a half.
Trump explained that he and Putin had "agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other's countries. We also agreed to have our respective teams begin negotiations (on Ukraine) immediately , and we will begin by calling Ukrainian President Zelensky to inform him of the conversation, which I will do now."
The next steps will be immediate. Trump has asked "Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to lead the negotiations, which I firmly believe will be successful."
Putin invited Trump to Moscow . "No one wants peace more than Ukraine," said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who then spoke to Trump himself. "Together with the United States, we are mapping out our next steps to stop Russian aggression and ensure a lasting and reliable peace. As President Trump said, let's do it."
