Trump President: «The Golden Age of the USA has begun. Duties, a stop to immigration and a return to oil»

Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States of America.

In a Washington under lockdown (in addition to the army, 25 thousand police officers were deployed), the inauguration ceremony , which was held not outside, but inside the Capitol Building due to the "polar" temperatures , in front of the elite of American politics (starting with the outgoing president Joe Biden with the former presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush ) and in the presence of numerous international leaders (including the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni) ,   and leading figures of the institutions and economy of the stars and stripes and beyond (including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg ).

Next to Trump, his wife Melania , in a dark blue frock coat with a white shirt designed by the American designer Adam Lippes,   the children and the new vice president JD Vance, also accompanied by his family.

The tycoon's supporters, however, gathered, despite the cold, along the streets of the US capital, while those who had already "booked" to attend the ceremony before the decision to move it indoors found a place in a small building, where several large screens were installed.

THE SPEECH – “America’s golden age begins right now,” Trump began, greeted upon arrival at Capitol Hill by a standing ovation and chants of “USA! USA!”, in his official speech. “With me,” he added, “the country will return to growth and be respected throughout the world . From now on, I will give priority to America. We will take back our sovereignty, security, justice, and we will no longer see all the current difficulties,” because “we will give priority to creating a rich and prosperous nation, even more exceptional than it has been up to now.”

"GOD SAVED ME" - And again: "From this moment the decline of America is over" , continued Trump, who also recalled the attack he was targeted by during the election campaign, stating: " I was shot, but God saved me so that America could become great". "Today, January 20, 2025, is the day of liberation - Trump said again - and I hope that the last elections will be remembered as those that led to the greatest things for our country".

Trump then thanked the Hispanic and African-American communities who allowed him to win in all seven swing states, calling for unity and promising that "the American dream will come true again."

STOP IMMIGRATION – Then the announcement of the first executive orders, starting with the state of national emergency at the border with Mexico to stop all illegal entries, with « the expulsion and rejection of millions of immigrants», also sending troops «to put an end to the invasion».

OIL AND DUTIES – Trump then listed other priorities to address immediately: more police against criminal gangs, the battle against inflation, the return to oil drilling («Drill, baby, drill») to solve the energy crisis, accompanied by the end of the “Green Deal”, the stop to laws on electric vehicles and the relaunch of exports of fossil fuels and products. The intention to establish customs duties on imports was also confirmed.

NO GENDER AND MARS – Trump also declared that he wants to put an end to “gender” policies, to return to only two genders of “male and female” , that he wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America and that   wanting to take back the Panama Canal "that China took from us". As for his ambitions for the near future, the new president said he wanted to relaunch space programs "to plant the US flag on Mars" (earning warm applause from his friend Elon Musk).

WARS – "I want to be a peacemaking president", Trump said regarding the ongoing conflicts" and "thanks to my patriotic administration   – he concluded – we will face every crisis with strength, we will move quickly with clear objectives to return to peace and prosperity".

GIORGIA MELONI – The ceremony, as mentioned, was also attended by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. «I think – said the Prime Minister, explaining the meaning of her presence in Washington – that it is extremely important for a nation like Italy, which has extremely solid relations with the United States, to give evidence of the will to continue and, if anything, strengthen that relationship at a time when the challenges are global and interconnected ».
