Emergency in Switzerland. A regional train derailed in the canton of Valais, in the Stockgrabe area, between Goppenstein and Hohtenn: 80 passengers were on board. Blick reports, adding that the regional express had departed from Spiez, Bern, around 6:00 a.m.

The Valais police reported that around thirty people were evacuated and some were taken to hospital.

The accident was caused by an avalanche, according to the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), which specified that the interruption of the Frutigen-Brig line will continue at least until tomorrow.
