Tragic road accident today in Kosovo . A 47-year-old soldier of Sardinian origin died in a collision between the vehicle he was traveling in and a civilian car that apparently was traveling against traffic.

The impact occurred on the road to Pristina .

Together with the 47-year-old from Quartu Sant'Elena, Claudio Cadeddu , a dog handler who worked at the military base in Pec, there was also a colleague of his, who was slightly injured and transported to the health facility of the Italian base. The two dogs that were with them were taken to a camp in the KFOR veterinary unit.

Cadeddu, who leaves behind his wife and daughter, was employed at the military veterinary center in Grosseto and was employed within KFOR.

Words of condolences came from the Army Chief of Staff, Pietro Serino, who sent best wishes for a speedy recovery to the wound.

And also from the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto: «With enormous suffering, on behalf of the Defense and my own staff, I express my closeness and would like to hold in an ideal embrace the wife, daughter and family of Claudio Cadeddu, servant of Italy in the Italian Army, victim of a tragic road accident in Kosovo. Goodbye Claudio", he writes in a note.
