A tornado hit the US state of Iowa causing several victims. According to the authorities, at least six are dead and among these there are also children.
The worst consequences are in Madison County, with many homes and buildings damaged and trees felled.
The strong wind also caused an interruption in the supply of electricity with consequent blackouts affecting 10 thousand people.
