Law enforcement agencies from seven countries, led by German and British authorities and with the support of Europol , have arrested 57 people from various European countries on charges of running an online network of men planning drug-fueled rapes of their wives and partners.

The Medusa investigation led to the identification of 156 people, including victims and perpetrators, as part of an operation conducted from 22 to 24 June and targeting sexual assaults committed under the influence of substances (Dfsa).

Led by the German (BKA and LKA Hamburg) and British (NCA) authorities, the project saw the active participation of France, the Netherlands, Spain, Brazil, Canada, Hungary, the United States, and the European agency Europol, which served as coordinator. The joint operation—announced by the European agency in a press release—resulted in impressive results: 274 new investigative leads were opened , leading to the identification of four new misogynistic online communities dedicated to these crimes.

At the heart of the operation was the support provided by Europol. The agency ensured real-time data cross-checking and advanced OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) support, allowing participating countries to enhance their investigations with the most up-to-date operational information.
