Half of the population of Gaza is dying of hunger while the fighting between Hamas and Israel continues: this was stated by the deputy director of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), Carl Skau, as reported by the BBC.

Only a fraction of the needed supplies managed to enter the Strip " and in some areas nine out of 10 families are unable to eat every day," the official added, underlining that conditions in Gaza have made deliveries of humanitarian aid "almost impossible."

Meanwhile , the American government has approved "urgently", without going through Congress, the sale to Israel of almost 14,000 rounds of 120 mm ammunition for Merkava tanks used in the war against Hamas, for a

value of 106.5 million dollars. The State Department and the Pentagon made this known, thus confirming the press previews of the last few hours.
