A few days after the burial in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace releases the photo of the tombstone of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on 8 September at the age of 96 .

The gravestone, made of Belgian black marble and carved by hand, shows in brass inlay the names and dates of birth and death of the parents of the British sovereign - the father King George V (1895-1952) and the Queen mother Elizabeth ( 1900-2002) -, those of Elizabeth II and her husband Philip of Edinburgh, who died in 2021.

The tombstone is located on the floor of the King George VI Memorial Chapel in St George's Chapel. In the same chapel are the ashes of Princess Margaret - Elizabeth's sister - although her name does not appear in the inscription.
