The US will send depleted uranium projectiles to Ukraine: the Pentagon has confirmed it, after the rumors of recent days.

A choice that the Russian embassy in the United States has defined as "inhuman".

"Depleted uranium munitions are very effective and several studies show that there is no risk of radiation," US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said in a briefing with the foreign press after the Pentagon has announced that it will be sent to Ukraine.

"The US administration's decision to send depleted uranium munitions to Kiev is a clear sign of inhumanity," writes the Russian embassy in Washington on its Telegram channel.

«Obsessed with the idea of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia - continues the embassy -, Washington is ready to fight not only to the last Ukrainian but also to put a cross on future generations. The American administration reveals its true nature: it is profoundly indifferent both to the present of Ukraine and to the future of the republic and its European neighbors».

«The United States - adds the representation of Moscow - deliberately transfer weapons with indiscriminate effects. They are fully aware of the consequences: explosions of such ammunition cause the formation of a moving radioactive cloud. Small particles of uranium are deposited in the respiratory tract, lungs, esophagus, accumulate in the kidneys and liver, cause cancer and lead to inhibition of the functions of the whole organism».
