Ikea launches into the real estate market and chooses Tokyo, to be precise the "special district" of Shinjuku-ku.

A mini apartment of 10 square meters all furnished with furniture from the Swedish giant. The rental cost is just 99 yen, or 77 euro cents.

A 10 sqm studio apartment where there is everything, essential as only Ikea can be: bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room and bathroom.

The Swedish giant is on the hunt for the perfect tenant. A tiny area for us Westerners, but in Japan the tiny apartments are on the rise, many on YouTube show how to live in apartments of 12 or 15 square meters.

Applications to win the Tiny Home are open on the official Ikea website, closing on December 3rd. The only requirement is to be over twenty years old. The new tenant will be able to sign a rental contact valid until January 15, 2023.
