The European Commission has asked all employees with the TikTok app installed on company devices and personal devices with access to the EU's mobile phone service to uninstall it as soon as possible .

The news was confirmed by the European executive.
The decision is linked to the need to protect European data and increase cyber security . For weeks, Brussels has turned the spotlight on the Chinese app, after the alarm already raised in the United States, with the ban on use on government devices. According to some press rumors, the social network would also be used to "spy" on journalists.

Last January, the CEO of TikTok Shou Zi Chew went to Brussels to meet some European commissioners. Among others, Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders, who had asked him to comply with privacy rules: "There are positive trends, but there is still room for improvement," he explained.
