Earthquake in Greece, where a quake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale was recorded on the island of Crete, at a depth of 13 kilometers.

The earthquake, according to what was communicated by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv) which recorded its magnitude, occurred at 8.17 Italian time.

The first shock was followed by another of lesser intensity.

According to the Greek TV Ert, a person would have died due to the earthquake: it is a worker who was carrying out work inside a church in Arkalochori, whose roof collapsed after the earthquake.

The Minister of Civil Protection, Christos Stylianidis, has already arrived on the spot.

Firefighters described the situation as "very difficult": there are at least three people trapped inside their homes.
