Also in Utah , a state court has blocked the near-total ban on abortion that came into effect after the Supreme Court ruling that effectively abolished the federal right to terminate pregnancy.

The stop imposed in Utah will now last 14 days. A few hours earlier a similar decision had taken a Louisiana court, suspending the ban on abortions.

Immediately after the sensational sentence of the Supreme Court , 11 US states had already imposed a total ban on abortion : Kentucky, Louisiana, South Dakota, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Alabama, North Dakota, Utah and Wisconsin.

And in the coming weeks it could be the turn of 12 other states that will move towards a total ban or further limitations as the governors of Texas and Florida have immediately announced: the latter, the hyperconservative Republican Ron DeSantis, intends to lower the limit allowed by 24 to 15 weeks, even in the case of rape or incest.
