Sydney, terror in church: bishop stabbed during mass, others injured

Terror this morning in a church in Sydney , Australia , where several people , including Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel , were stabbed during mass .

A man arrested .

The bishop was delivering his sermon at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley when a man calmly approached him before attacking him and stabbing him in the face and neck . Then the screams of those present, with some who approached to help the victim and suffered other injuries.

A man in his 50s was taken to Liverpool Hospital with multiple stab wounds, an ambulance service spokesperson said. Other people were injured and were treated on site.

Just three days ago six people were stabbed to death in a Sydney shopping centre.
